THE FUR AND FEATHER 2011.

The November weather may have been dank and cold but you could not have wished for a better atmosphere for this years Fur and Feather match fished on a mist shrouded Club Pool.  Twenty three of  the Club’s finest anglers (from both the match group and day membership) lined up to fish for a prize list that would have done any club in the country proud.

Although the fishing was unusually hard due to the drop in overnight temperature and the shear number of anglers around the pool everyone seemed to enjoy themselves but were relieved when the all out was sounded and we could all go back to The Headquarters for a pint and a warm.

Many thanks must go to DAVE WARREN who has not only ran this match with his usual efficient and calm manner but  has also managed to put together a prize list that is the envy of bigger clubs.  Dave has already started to work on next years prize list and is on the look out for more goodies so if you have anything  please contact him. A lot of this years prizes were donated by people who support The Club in an indirect way and we all should send out a big thanks to them for without their generosity Dave would struggle to keep the cost of this match relatively low.

Once again we must also send a big thank you to our hosts at The Whitehall Inn in Rushwick Ron and Fiona who not only allow us to use the pub as a base but encourage our fundraising activities. Last but not least I would like to thank on behalf of The Club the regulars of  The Whitehall who never fail to dig deep into their pockets whenever we have an event like this.
