2011 saw the Whitehall Angling Club consolidate its position as one of top local angling clubs.
The clubs reputation was enhanced by a number of iniatives amongst them, the continued restocking of the pool, an over scribed waiting list for full membership, finishing third in a major local team angling competition and generating over 300,000 hits on the clubs website.
The club faced a number of challenges on the match fishing front and overcame these, these included a local fishery closing a booked pool, the replacement being switched by the fishery owner to another pool at the last minute.
On the positive side good matches were again held at Cobb House, where the clubs individual match record weight was broken. Tirley Court was a new venue where members had good weights. The Droitwich Canal presented those members fishing with challenges not experienced on commercial fisheries.
The club intends to continue in the coming year with its restocking policy which should ensure all anglers have good catches. The introduction of a new match group competition should ensure that member’s interest is maintained. The coming years match calendar will present some interesting challenges.
Also the club will experience a large intake of new members.
The club will continue to take a pro active view in developing the club with the committee working hard to ensure that club reaches its aims and objectives.
