<p><strong>Although the fishing was unusually hard due to the drop in overnight temperature and <a href="http://whitehallrushwickac.co.uk/2011/11/21/fur-and-feather-2011/sdc10354/" rel="attachment wp-att-2084"><img class="alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-2084" title="SDC10354" src="http://whitehallrushwickac.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/SDC10354-150x112.jpg" alt="" width="150" height="112" /></a>the shear number of anglers around the pool everyone seemed to enjoy themselves but were relieved when the<a href="http://whitehallrushwickac.co.uk/2011/11/21/fur-and-feather-2011/sdc10359/" rel="attachment wp-att-2085"><img class="alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-2085" title="SDC10359" src="http://whitehallrushwickac.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/SDC10359-150x112.jpg" alt="" width="150" height="112" /></a> all out was sounded and we could all go back to The Headquarters for a pint and a warm.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Many thanks must go to DAVE WARREN who has not only ran this match with his usual efficient and calm manner but  has also managed to put together a prize list that is the envy of bigger clubs.  Dave has already started to work on next years prize list <a href="http://whitehallrushwickac.co.uk/2011/11/21/fur-and-feather-2011/sdc10371/" rel="attachment wp-att-2087"><img class="alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-2087" title="SDC10371" src="http://whitehallrushwickac.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/SDC10371-150x112.jpg" alt="" width="150" height="112" /></a>and is on the look out for more goodies so if you have anything  please contact him. A lot of this years prizes were donated by people who support The Club in an indirect way and we all should send<a href="http://whitehallrushwickac.co.uk/2011/11/21/fur-and-feather-2011/sdc10366/" rel="attachment wp-att-2088"><img class="alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-2088" title="SDC10366" src="http://whitehallrushwickac.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/SDC10366-112x150.jpg" alt="" width="112" height="150" /></a> out a big thanks to them for without their generosity Dave would struggle to keep the cost of this match relatively low.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Once again we must also send a big thank you to our hosts at The Whitehall Inn in Rushwick Ron and Fiona who not only allow us to use the pub as a base but encourage our fundraising <a href="http://whitehallrushwickac.co.uk/2011/11/21/fur-and-feather-2011/sdc10372/" rel="attachment wp-att-2089"><img class="alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-2089" title="SDC10372" src="http://whitehallrushwickac.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/SDC10372-150x112.jpg" alt="" width="150" height="112" /></a>activities. Last but not least I would like to thank on behalf of The Club the regulars of  The Whitehall who never fail to dig deep into their pockets whenever we have an event like this.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Congratulations to Nigel Crane on winning this years event and here&#8217;s looking forward to <a href="http://whitehallrushwickac.co.uk/2011/11/21/fur-and-feather-2011/sdc10375/" rel="attachment wp-att-2091"><img class="alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-2091" title="SDC10375" src="http://whitehallrushwickac.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/SDC10375-112x150.jpg" alt="" width="112" height="150" /></a></strong></p>

I have tried to use as many pictures as possible to try to give those members who have not fished it a feel for the place.</strong></p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline; font-size: large;"><strong>The Lake.</strong></span><a href="http://whitehallrushwickac.co.uk/2011/10/02/petes-lake-tirley-court-23rd-october-2011/sdc10145/" rel="attachment wp-att-1947"><img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-1947" title="SDC10145" src="http://whitehallrushwickac.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/SDC10145-300x225.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="225" /></a></p>
<p><strong>Pete&#8217;s Lake  is about three acres in size and has depths varying from a few inches in the margins to 10 feet or more further out.</strong></p>
<p><strong>It is mainly stocked with loads of Mirror and Common Carp varying in size from a few ounces to twenty odd pounds plus, with the average being somewhere between four and six pounds.</strong></p>
<p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><span style="font-size: large;">Tat</span></span><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><span style="font-size: large;">ics.</span></span></strong></p>
<p><strong>It would be true to say that most fish on Pete&#8217;s lake are taken on the Pole, although it is a good idea to beef up your <a href="http://whitehallrushwickac.co.uk/2011/10/02/petes-lake-tirley-court-23rd-october-2011/sdc10294/" rel="attachment wp-att-1963"><img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-1963" title="SDC10294" src="http://whitehallrushwickac.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/SDC10294-300x224.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="224" /></a>usual set up as some of the fish are real munters and even the smaller samples give a good account of themselves.</strong></p>
<p><strong>I have found it best to fish simple rigs with a small bulk and a couple of droppers. I would start of on a 5/6 meter line on the deck and feed after every fish. Whilst fishing this line I would also be feeding a margin swim (you really will not believe how close in even the biggest of fish will come) and keeping an eye on this for the fish to turn up.</strong></p>
<p><strong>I have also caught fish on the method feeder with the fish seeming to prefer 4mm pellets wrapped around the feeder over micros or ground bait.  </strong></p>
<p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline; font-size: large;">Baits.</span></strong></p>
<p><strong><a href="http://whitehallrushwickac.co.uk/2011/10/02/petes-lake-tirley-court-23rd-october-2011/sdc10144/" rel="attachment wp-att-1948"><img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-1948" title="SDC10144" src="http://whitehallrushwickac.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/SDC10144-300x225.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="225" /></a>Most baits work well here including  sweet corn, pellet, paste and natural baits like casters, Worms and maggots. There are no real secrets to catching fish at Pete&#8217;s Lake although it really does pay to get your feeding right as to much feed results in an to many fish being in your swim and lots of foul hooked fish. But to little and the guy in the next peg gets far more than you.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Our own Whitehall feed pellets my be used here and are as good as any for keeping the fish occupied without over filling them. </strong></p>
<p><strong>Please get in touch with Mike Hope if you would like him to bring you some to this match.<br />

<p><strong>Staite’s club hosted Severn Stoke AC in the first round of an inter-club match between the two teams.</strong></p>
