The one-off club pairs match arranged for Sunday 03^rd June at the Club Pool is now sold out. Thank you to all the members for showing interest.

A big thank you everyone who turned up and helped at the recent maintenance day.

An enormous amount of work has been completed, collecting and burning fallen branches from around the pool, mowing and strimming grass, pruning of trees, repairs to a number of pegs (some still need attention).

Additionally due to the labours of non-members the bridge has been completely rebuilt, thanks guys.

There are still some things that need doing and the on-going grass cutting so any help you can give would be appreciated.

With the Club Pool fishing better than ever at the moment,there has never been a better time to fish it.

Day tickets can be used at any time you wish as long as there is not a match taking place and please don’t worry we will not pass your details onto anyone else.

The Photo’s on this page show March’s winner CHARLIE DONE of Northwick in Worcester with just two of the fish he caught at The Club Pool whilst using the  ticket he won in a recent draw.

The picture to the left shows 9 Year old Harrison Wittering, with his  1lb 3oz Perch, caught from permanent peg 21, in early January 2012. It was Harrison’s first ever fish.

Well done young man.I think we have a new rising star here.

The picture to the right shows one of the clubs more mature anglers in the shape of Dave Warren with another clonking fish of well over the pound mark. Dave was in permanent peg 12 and used red maggot as bait.

With plenty of silver fish also being caught (including Chub,Ide,Roach and Rudd) and even the odd Carp showing the pool is really showing what a fine winter venue it is. This is shown  in the fact that the first in the latest series of  winter silver fish only matches is already a sell out.

This year we are revamping the doubles competition as in the past we have had problems with anglers being let down by their partners for various reasons. To help combat this the committee have come up with the idea of a teams of three doubles competition. The way it works is actually very simple, teams of three anglers are drawn and if all three turn up then only the best two WEIGHTS will count.

 Big/Little Boys Leagues 2012

As in previous years the popular Thursday Evening Open Matches will be held on the club pool.

These matches will draw at 6.00 pm and fish 6.30 pm till 9.00 pm, with each match being a standalone event.

The cost of entry is £7.00 per person which includes a £2.00 peg fee, all other money will be paid on the night, and places paid will be dependent on the number of people fishing.

Pre ordered food is available.

The matches are open to both members and non-members.

Matches will start on the 24^th May and every Thursday until the 12^th July.

Booking your place is recommended and anyone interested should contact Dave Warren on 07880 558866.

The November weather may have been dank and cold but you could not have wished for a better atmosphere for this years Fur and Feather match fished on a mist shrouded Club Pool.  Twenty three of  the Club’s finest anglers (from both the match group and day membership) lined up to fish for a prize list that would have done any club in the country proud.

Although the fishing was unusually hard due to the drop in overnight temperature and the shear number of anglers around the pool everyone seemed to enjoy themselves but were relieved when the all out was sounded and we could all go back to The Headquarters for a pint and a warm.

Many thanks must go to DAVE WARREN who has not only ran this match with his usual efficient and calm manner but  has also managed to put together a prize list that is the envy of bigger clubs.  Dave has already started to work on next years prize list and is on the look out for more goodies so if you have anything  please contact him. A lot of this years prizes were donated by people who support The Club in an indirect way and we all should send out a big thanks to them for without their generosity Dave would struggle to keep the cost of this match relatively low.

Once again we must also send a big thank you to our hosts at The Whitehall Inn in Rushwick Ron and Fiona who not only allow us to use the pub as a base but encourage our fundraising activities. Last but not least I would like to thank on behalf of The Club the regulars of  The Whitehall who never fail to dig deep into their pockets whenever we have an event like this.

next season.

    THE PRIZE LIST

The latest phrase of fish stocking was completed on Thursday 14^th July this year.

A further 2000 plus of mirror, common and crucian hybrids were introduced to the club pool, at a retail cost of c£1.20 per fish. (Where does the money come from?)

The introduction of these fish, following last year’s stocking should ensure fish succession for years to come.

Members and clubs renting the pool should enjoy the benefits in terms of catches when fishing.

The committee will continue, subject to funds attempt to continue with our stocking policy to ensure that our venue is the one people want to fish.
