23rd May 2010 1st Club Match at the Club Pool.
The Whitehall AC fished their first match of the season on the club pool.
Unfortunately the carp were more interested in sunbathing or spawning,
However Mike Hope despite missing his net with a 5lb carp used his experience to net 30lbs of carp and 9 04 00 of silver fish to claim first place. With a winning weight of 39 04 00 from peg 11, using corn and maggot as bait.
In the next peg 12 Paul ( Fergie) Edwards caught 27 07 0 including a carp of 15 06 00 using corn as bait.
In third place just two ounces short was Carl Graham on peg 17 with 27 05 00 with a carp and silver fish bag. Fourth place went to local match ace and new Club member Lennie Merrill on peg 27 with 22 14 00 of carp and silver fish caught in the margins.
The section winners were Section 1 Nigel Crane from peg 4 with An silver fish net of 13 05 00, Section 2 Mark Johnson with 20 1100 including a carp of 11 15 00, Section 3 Les Thompson on peg 18 with 21 06 00 and Section 4 Keith Holt with 22 15 00.
A total of over 275lbs was caught in the match more than 5 times what was caught in all our matches last year.
Apart from the fishing the match will be remembered for 2 members taking up juggling, Tony Hawker juggled a large carp into his keep net where Mike Hope juggled his back into the pool.
27th May 2010 Thursday Open at the Club Pool.
Anglers fishing the latest Whitehall Open match on the Clubs pool at Cotheridge found the carp reluctant to feed due to spawning.
In first place was new Whitehall club member Tony Hawker who scaled 19 03 00 of carp and silver fish, fishing meat at 8 metres on peg 12.
In second place just 11 ounces short was club secretary Mike Hope with 18 08 00 from peg 9 who maggot fished the margins for carp and silver fish. Third place went to local match ace and club member Lennie Merrill with 14 15 00 of corn caught carp and roach from peg 11 fished at 6 metres.
An all roach bag from peg 4 weighing 12 10 00 was enough to give Colin Hope fourth place.
The unluckiest angler of the night was John Hawker who having hooked a ‘monster’ broke the third section of his pole, the pole and fish were last seen disappearing into the depths of the pool.
3rd June 2010 Open Match at the Club Pool.
Overnight rain and a drop in temperature made conditions difficult for the anglers fishing the first Whitehall Open match of the new season.
Whilst all participants caught silver fish the carp proved elusive.
Dave Warren again proved his expertise on the club venue by weighing in 25 13 00 of paste caught carp from peg 20.
In second place was Mick Watling (Halfway House) with 13 09 00 from peg 12, he included a carp of almost 11lbs caught on meat in the margins.
Third place went to Steve Williams (Halfway House) who caught four crucian carp on meat from peg 2 weighing 12 08 00.
In fourth place Lee Davey (Fox AC) from peg 18 netted 11 08 00.

Saturday 5th June 2010 Annual Pairs Match.
The Whitehall annual pair’s competition was held on the club pool at Cotheridge.
Following recent poor carp catches due to spawning anglers found them prepared to feed with anglers catching and losing fish.
In first place, his second win in three day was Tony Hawker who fishing the margins of peg 7 on meat caught 6 carp and roach for a weight of 57 14 00. Second place went to Dave Warren who caught 55 00 00 of carp and roach fishing paste at 8 metres on peg 11.
Completing the prize list was club secretary Mike Hope who fishing corn and maggot on peg 10 scaled 36 11 00 of carp and silver fish, which include a new club silver fish match record of 28 02 00.
The winners weights added to their partners meant that Tony and John Hawker were first with 78 01 00, second place went to last year’s winners Dave Warren and Dave Yapp with 76 15 00 with Keith Holt and Nigel Crane third with 55 01 00.

Thursday 10th June Open Match At The Club Pool.
The latest Whitehall AC open match was won by Gary Brixton (Portobello AC) fishing peg 12 offering corn at in the margins he caught 5 carp for a weight of 40 04 00, he also lost 6 fish.
In second place war Lee Davey (Fox AC) who from peg 10 used meat at 7 metres to net 19 06 00 of carp. In the next peg Steve Williams (Halfway House AC) also used meat to catch 17 11 00 of carp.
Saturday 14th June 2nd Club Match at Cob House, Wyatt’s Pool.
The latest Whitehall AC match was fished on Wyatt’s Pool at Cobb House.
Whilst most anglers found bites slow at the start of the match Carl Graham on peg 26 fishing corn in the margins caught from the start. At the end of the match he scaled 99 12 00 of carp.
From the same area of the pool, peg 29 Lennie Merrill using pellet close in scaled 74 14 00 again an all carp bag. In the same area of the pool Mark Bayliss on peg 28 using similar tactics weighed in 70 10 00. In fourth place and winning his section was Nigel Crane who fished paste on peg 17 to net 67 06 00 of carp.
Section winners were section 1 peg 6 Tony Hawker 42 14 00, section 2 Tony Staite, peg 11 54 04 00, section 3 Tom Mitchenhall, peg 24 25 08 00.

Thursday 17th June 2010. Open Match Club Pool.
Lee Davey (Fox AC) won the latest Whitehall AC Thursday evening open contest when he netted 18-3-0 of carp and roach from peg 18.
Mick Watling took second with a level 18-0-0, while John Hawker was third with 13-10-0 from peg 27.
Sunday 20th June 2010. 3rd Club Match. Broadacres Match Pool.
Members of the Whitehall AC fished their latest match on the match pool at Broadacres.
The pool having been fished hard on the previous day saw members struggle to catch. On peg 12 Nigel Crane opted to use paste fished at 6 metres just off the bottom to scale 57 06 00 of carp. On the opposite side of the pool on peg 30 Andy Sankey used meat fished in the margins to net 32 04 00 of carp.
In peg 36 Tony Staite used corn fished at 4 metres to scale 27 10 0 of carp and silver fish, fourth place went to Mike Hope on peg 4 who had three carp and silver fish on maggot for a weight of 19 14 00 which also gave him a section win.
Other section winners were Lennie Merrill with 11 00 00, Colin Davies 12 08 00 and Tom Staite 7 06 00. The unluckiest angler of the day was Tony O’Neil who lost 6 fish that would have put him in the frame.
The clubs next match is at Greenhill farm Fishery, this match will incorporate the first round of the clubs KO competition.
Thursday 24th June 2010. Open Match At The Club Pool.
The latest Whitehall AC two and a half hour open match saw a lot of carp hooked but anglers failing to get them in the net. A situation highlighted by Lennie Merrill who hooked six fish and failed to land any.
In first place was club secretary Mike Hope who fished peg 27 close in on corn and maggot to post a weight of 23 14 00 of carp and silver fish.
In second place was club member Keith Holt with 20 00 00 of carp from peg 24 fished at 10 metres using paste.
Third place went to Graham Mitchenhall on peg 9 who meat caught carp scaled 17 02 00, the fish again taken from the margins.
In peg 29, claiming fourth spot was Mick Watling (Halfway House AC) who weighed 16 08 00 of maggot caught roach and rudd.
These Thursday evening matches are open to anyone and due to their popularity have been extended until the 15th July.
Thursday 1st July 2010.Open Match At The Club Pool
The latest Whitehall AC two and a half hour open match saw the carp reluctant to feed in the first hour or so of the match.
The second half was different with the carp deciding to feed with most anglers catching fish.
In first place fishing peg 14 on paste was current club champion Nigel Crane with 23 07 00, of carp, fishing paste at 5 metres. For the second week running Keith Holt had to settle for second place, fishing peg 11 on corn in the margins he scaled 21 15 00.
Steve Williams (Halfway House AC) scaled 21 02 00 of meat caught carp and silver fish from the margins of peg 9.
In fourth place fishing peg 27 was Mike Hope with 19 08 00 of maggot caught carp and roach from the margins.
These Thursday evening matches are open to anyone and due to their popularity have been extended until the 15th July.
Sunday 4th July 2010. Greenhill Fishery, Curlew Pool.
Members of the Whitehall AC fished their latest match on the Curlew Pool at Greenhill’s Fishery.
Carl Graham set a new club match record, beating the record set last year on the same venue by 6lbs.He scaled 108 10 00 of carp from peg19., Fishing corn in the margins he caught from the start with fish up to 5lbs.
In second place was Dave Warren who used similar tactics to net 97 00 00 from peg 23. In third place was Graham Mitchenhall with 80.02 00 of carp caught on maggot. In fourth place was Steve Hope with 73.10 00 of corn caught carp.
Section winners were A section Steve Hope, B section Tony O’Neil 47 04 00, C section Nigel Crane 59 02 00, despite losing 15 fish, D section Steve Mitchenhall 78 00 00.

The latest Whitehall Thursday open match was a tight affair with Lee Davy (Fox AC) managing to win by just 2 ounces.
Fishing peg 11 at 9 metres using luncheon meat he scaled 34 14 00 of carp, in peg 9 Keith Holt had to settle for second place again. Using pellet fished close in he weighed in 34 12 00 of carp.
In third place on peg 27 was Gary Watling with 25 08 00 of corn and maggot caught carp and roach from the margins. His father Mick was fourth with 20 00 00 of carp and roach from peg 5.
Sunday 18th July 2010 Manor Farm Windmill Pool.
Members of the Whitehall AC fished their latest match on the Windmill Pool at Manor Farm at Harvington.
The match was a close affair with the weight of one fish deciding the winner.
In peg 9 Len Merrill caught from the start fishing the pellet at 8 metres, up in the water, his all carp net scaled 73 12 00.
On peg 17 Dave Warren alternated between paste and pellet to net an all carp bag weighing 71 14 00.
The result meant that Len eliminated Dave (last year’s winner) from the clubs knock out competition.
Carl Graham continued his run of form scaling 56 14 00 of corn caught carp from peg 6.
Section winners were A section Nigel Crane 44 15 00, B section Keith Holt 45 10 00, C section Colin Davies 44 04 00, D section Graham Mitchenhall 19 00 00.

Thursday 22nd July 2010. Open Match Club Pool.
The latest Whitehall Thursday two and a half hour open match was fished in heavy rain and thunder. The adverse weather appeared to make the carp decide that paste was their preferred bait. All the anglers who appeared in the ‘frame’ used this as bait.
Fishing peg 4 club star Dave Warren fished paste at 6 metres to scale an all carp bag of
51 08 00. In second place club champion Nigel Crane used the same bait on peg 22 to net 43 08 00 of carp and eels.
Third place with an all carp bag of 35 00 00 on peg 24 again on paste was Lee Davy (fox AC) with fourth place going to Mark Bayliss on peg 7 with 29 12 00.
25th July 2010. Ern Hope & Harold Locke Memorial Match Club Pool.
Members of the Whitehall AC fished the tenth Ern Hope and Harold Lock on the club pool at Ockeridge.
Anglers found the fish reluctant to bite; the result of the match was decided with five minutes to go.
Match winner tony O’Neil fishing corn on peg 4 hooked and landed a carp with the last cast of the match to scale an all carp net of 27 02 00.
In peg 2 Mike Hope hooked and lost a carp with minutes to go and had to settle for second place with a maggot caught carp and silver fish bag weighing 24 00 00.
Fishing corn on peg 24 Dave Warren had two carp for 12 12 00 with Colin Davies on peg 8 weighing 10 01 00 of crucian for fourth place.
Thursday 29th July 2010. Open Match. Club Pool.
The final Whitehall Thursday two and a half hour open match was another close affair with all the placed anglers using paste as bait.
The consistent Lee Davey (Fox AC) fished the margins of peg 12 to net an all carp bag of 42 00 00.
In second place was club veteran John Hawker on peg 24 fishing at 8 metres he caught carp weighing 37 04 00.
In third place was Dave Warren who caught 25 09 00 from peg 4.

Members of the Whitehall AC fished there latest club match at Hallow Ac pools at Great Whitley.
In form Nigel Crane used paste fished at 6 metres on un-fancied peg 28 to take a mostly carp bag of 60.02 00.
In second place was Dave Warren on peg 18 who also used paste for an all carp weight of 37 08 00. Third place went to Graham Mitchenhall on peg 23 who used corn to tempt his fish for a weight of 27 02 00. Fourth place went to club veteran Colin Davies who used all his experience to net 25 14 00 of carp from peg 7 with all his fish coming in the last hour.
Section winners were A, Mike Hope 17 08 00, B, Tony O’Neil 17 02 00 and C, Carl Graham 24 04 00.

Saturday 7th August 2010. Inter Club Match V Severnstoke A.C At The Club Pool.
Members of the Whitehall AC and Severnstoke AC fished the first leg of an home and away interclub match, the first leg being fished at the Whitehall’s pool at Cotheridge.
The overall winner was Tony Staite (Whitehall) who took an all carp net from peg 11 on maggot to weigh 34 02 00. In second place was Keith Holt (Whitehall) who from peg 6 had a carp and silver bag which took paste to weigh 26 01 00.
In third place was Nigel Rowberry (Severnstoke) who fished peg 8 using maggot as bait for a carp and silver fish net of 25 03 00. Completing the frame was Martin Cullwick (Severnstoke) who had 19 07 00 from peg 20.
Overall Whitehall scored 32 points and Severnstoke 26 which should make the return leg at Severnstoke an interesting match.
Sunday 15th August 2010. Greenhill Fisheries, Curlew Pool.
The latest Whitehall Ac contest was held at Greenhill’s Fishery on the Curlew Pool.
Carl Graham showed his likening for the venue by winning the match has he did when the club last fished the venue.
Drawn on peg 22 he fished corn and maggot in the margin for an all carp bag of 81 12 00. In second place was Andrew Sankey who used corn and worm on peg 29 to net 74 14 0, third place went to Steve Hope who fished both the margins and at 6 metres on corn to scale 68 14 00.
Completing the winners was Dave Warren who netted 55 04 00 from peg 11.
Section winners were A, Steve Mitchenhall 37 00 00, Section B, Dave Warren 59 12 00, Section C, Dave Wagg 55 04 00, Section D, Graham Mitchenhall 32 04 00.

Saturday 21st August 2010. Bill Burton Memorial Match.
Members of the Whitehall AC and their guests fished the Bill Burton memorial match on the clubs pool at Cotheridge.
Most of the match was fished in heavy rain which did little to encourage the fish to bite.
The result was a close affair however with club veteran Colin Davies using his experience to net a mixed bag of 21 10 00 from peg 22.
Close behind him was Steve Hope on peg 7 with a mixed bag of carp and silver fish falling to meat fished shallow at eight metres.
In third place was Lennie Merrill who fished peg 14 to scale 16 07 00 of carp and silver fish. Completing the line up was Tony Hawker with 15 00 00 from peg 5.
All money raised from the match was donated in Bill Burton memory to the local Cancer fund.

Members of the Whitehall AC fished their latest match on the clubs pool at Cotheridge.
Recent wind and heavy wind on the day made conditions difficult but the elder statesman of the club Dave Yapp showed the members how to master the conditions.
Drawn on peg 22 he opted to fish ledgered meat to register an all carp bag of 30 08 00 this despite dropping a 5lb carp back into the pool rather than his net.
In second place was Tony O’Neil drawn again on peg 4 his corn caught carp weight scaled 21 00 00. In third place was Tony Staite who opted to catch silver fish on maggots from peg 9 he also managed a bonus carp in a weight of 18 12 0, fourth place went to Mark Bayliss on peg 17 with 17 10 00 of carp.
Section winners were Section A Dave Wagg 11 14 00, Section B Mark Bayliss 17 10 0.

Saturday 4th September 2010 Match V SevernStoke
Members of the Whitehall and Severnstoke Angling Clubs fished the second leg of their inter club match on Severn Stokes pool.
The day belonged to the Whitehall with their members taking the first five places.
In first place was Dave Warren on peg 6 who fished expander pellet to net carp and bream for a weight of 36 10 0. In second place on peg 26 was Nigel Crane with an all carp weight of 29 03 00 on paste he also lost his top two.
Third place went to Tony O’Neil on peg 3 with a corn caught net of 14 11 00 which consisted of carp and bream. Tony Staite continued his recent good run scaling 10 13 00 of carp from peg 34 he also lost 5 good fish.
Section winners were A Margaret Stankovic (Severn Stoke) 0 11 0, B section, Bill Hartland (Severn Stoke) 7 7 0, C Section Les Thompson (Whitehall) 8 2 0, D Section Tony Staite (Whitehall) 10 13 0.
On the day Whitehall scored 32 points to Severn Stokes 21 giving an overall total of Whitehall 64 Severnstoke 47.

Sunday 12th September 2010. Oak Pool, Ockeridge Fishery.
Members of the Whitehall Angling Club fished their latest match on Oak pool at Cotheridge fisheries.
The match was won by Mark Bayliss who set a new club individual match record of 113 02 00 of paste and corn caught carp. Drawn on fancied peg 10 he fished the margins and caught throughout the match.
In second place from peg 26 was Nigel Crane who used paste to net 83 08 00 of carp caught at 6 metres. In third place on peg 28 with 81 10 00 of pellet caught carp was Dave Warren, completing the winners was Carl Graham on peg 6 with 59 08 00 of paste caught carp.
Sections winners were, A Section Carl Graham 59 08, B section Colin Davies 28 8, Section C Keith Holt 21 08.
The match also saw the semi final of the clubs ko trophy fished which saw Carl Graham and Tony Staite go through to fish the final.

Members of the Whitehall Angling Club fished their latest match on Wyatt’s Pool at Cobb House Fishery.
The clubs individual match weight record was broken by the top three anglers.
In first place Nigel Crane continued his run of good form by scaling 170 12 00 of paste caught carp, drawn on peg 4 he fished the at 6 metres and caught throughout the match.
In second place from peg 14 was Colin Davies who used pellet in the margin to net 117 08 00 of carp. Third place went to Tony Staite on peg 25 who fished the margins with corn to scale 115 14 00.
Completing the frame was Dave Warren who fished pellet in the margin to weigh in 111 12 00.
Sections winners were, A Section Tom Mitchenhall 47 12 00, B section Mike Hope 80 00 00, Section C Dave Warren 111 12 00.

Members of the Whitehall Angling Club fished their latest match on the club pool at Cotheridge. The match was fished in torrential rain and high winds which added to recent heavy rain made conditions difficult.
In first place fishing peg 22 using pellet as bait, Dave Warren net carp and silver fish for a winning weight of 55 00 00.
On peg 5 Nigel Crane fished maggot to net an all carp bag of 24 00 00, Graham Mitchenhall used corn on peg 20 to weigh 21 14 0 of carp and silver fish.
Tony Staite fished peg 2 to net an all carp catch of 19 00 00.
Section winners were A section Carl Graham 13 10 00, B section Tony Staite 19 00 00, along with other qualifiers these will fish in the clubs King of Sections match.
The Clubs next match is on the match pool at Hawbridge Fishery.
24th October 2010. Hawbridge Fishery.
Members of the Whitehall Angling Club fished their final Summer League match at Hawford Bridge Fishery on Penn Pool.
The recent rain and an overnight heavy frost made condition difficult on this normally prolific venue.
Fishing peg 9, on the pole, Nigel Crane needed only 28 06 00 of pellet caught carp to win the match.
Using the same bait, but opting to ledger, in peg 7 Dave Warren’s all carp bag weighing 24 14 00 was enough for second place.
Club veteran Lennie Merrill on peg 20 also used pellets for another all carp bag of 23 08 00, completing the winner’s line up was Tony O’Neil with 20 12 00 of corn caught carp, falling to ledger tactics.
Section winners were Section A, Tony Staite 16 08 00, section B, Tony O’Neil 20 12 00, Section C, Dave Wagg 15.00 00, Section D, Carl Graham 15 00 00.
As well as winning his section Tony Staite also won the clubs knock out trophy by beating fellow section winner Carl Graham.
The Clubs next match is on the clubs pool at Ockeridge and is the final of the seasons section winners match.
1st Silver Fish Match. Saturday 6th November 2010.
The first Whitehall Angling Club silver fish match was held on the clubs pool at Cotheridge.
Whilst all anglers caught silver fish they also caught carp, Tony Staite (Whitehall AC) who has recently made a number catching silver fish caught 13.
Local veteran John Snape (Grovenor) managed to avoid the carp and using maggot on peg 11 caught roach and Rudd for a winning weight of 14 00 00.
In second place John Snelson (St John’s) used worm on peg 20 to net 11 14 00 which included a 3lb plus bream. Third place went to Stewart Cholerton (Severn Stoke) with 11 00 00 of maggot caught roach and Rudd.
Completing the winners was club star Dave Warren with 9 08 00 of roach from peg 22.
The next match is on Sunday 21st November at the clubs pool, draw at 9.00am fish 10.00am until 14.00pm. All matches are stand alone matches rather than a league.
